Day 7: Travel to the Singing sand dunes
Today is our longest driving day. 250km of vast deserts with massive rugged mountain ranges running parallel are to be covered. Our next destination is the “singing” sand dunes majestically contrasting with the green meadows and black mountain ranges. In late afternoon we arrive to the singing sand dunes. Stretching for over 100km and reaching 200 meters in height they run side by side to a dark range of Sevrei mt and the green meadow of khongor river. Do the dunes really sing? Yes, they do; on a windy day a distant propeller hum is distinctly heard from the dunes. Fine sand is pushed up by the dominating western winds on the ridges. Gradually building up on crests it then collapses down the steeper slope thus producing the tremor of tons of sand rolling down. We will head to a ger camp next to the tallest dunes. Deserved showers, dinner and overnight. (ger / B,L,D)
Day 8: Rest day at the singing sand dunes

A well deserved leisure day. You may hike or race up and along the dunes – it is all yours. In the afternoon you will have a chance to ride the 2 humped “bactrian” camels. There are many of them grazing in the area and a local camel herder will advise us and look after your safety and tack. (ger / B,L,D)
